The SPEAK Program is designed to assist three (3) primary populations groups termed as: a) Hostile; b); Responsive; and c) Consentual.
● “Hostile” parents may be divorced, separated or never-married adults, with child(ren) (minors under age 16) involved in highly conflicted custody and access disputes referred by order of a county circuit court (Family Law, Domestic Relations, Juvenile) to a third-party provider (i.e. Children’s Rights Council) for child access, parenting education, anger management, or other services.
● “Responsive” parents may be divorced, separated or never-married adults, with child(ren) (minors under age 16), who voluntarily utilize the services of CRC as a third-party provider for the purpose(s) of improving their awareness and/or parenting skills to act in the best interests of their child(ren) following the expected dissolution of the family. Such referrals may be self-referred, or made by an attorney, service provider, or other person/agency, but without order by the Court.
● “Consentual” parents may be divorced, separated or never-married adults, and may or may not have children, but hold a keen interest in building and maintaining a strong healthy family, improving their awareness and/or parenting skills in anticipation of becoming parents (or step-parents), and/or focus immediate attention on family problem-solving and methods to recover/revive the relationship.
● Secondary populations include extended family members (grandparents, siblings, and other persons interested in the welfare of the child(ren) outside the immediate influence of the court. Such referrals may be self-referred, or made by an attorney, service provider, or other person/agency, and with or without order by the Court.
